Temple Church

Situated just off Fleet Street in an area called Temple Inn is one of London’s most beautiful treasures. The Temple Church was built over 800 years ago for the famous order of the Knights Templar.
You might recognize the Temple Church from the film The Da Vinci Code but in real life it has great significance regarding the signing of the Magna Carta.

William Marshal, the greatest Knight of his age. The Knights Templar were very rich and powerful people and it was he who ultimately saw to it that the Magna Carta got signed. You can see an efigy of him on the floor alongside other Knights Templar in the Temple Church.
