Black Georgian Londoners

In this video we go around London looking at the places connected with some of the most significant Black people living in London in Georgian times.
With the help of Clinton Smith, Paterson Joseph and Ortis Deley we look at the lives of Francis Barber at Dr Johnson’s House, Dido Belle at Kenwood House, Ignatius Sancho in Whitehall, Mary Prince at Senate House, Olaudah Equiano at Telegraph Hill and others.
Marine archeologist Dr Sean Kingsley also joins us with some mudlarks looking at various finds uncovered on the Thames.
